More that 1500 people have asked for help with completing their tax returns on Twitter, according to research from Cardif.
Responsible households
According to the research seven percent do not complete a tax return. Ten percent leave the tax return to their partner, 45 percent prefer to do the tax return themselves and 18 percent do their return collectively.
Outsourcing
The completion of the tax return is the only financial task that is often outsourced. Other tasks such as the submission of declarations to the insurer, the payment of monthly bills, the search for (health) insurance, the application for credit and the choice of investments are outsourced a maximum of four percent. One in five Dutch people hire an external advisor for their tax returns.
Help via Twitter
The possibility to call in help from the tax authorities (Belastingdienst) through Twitter is new this year. People could ask questions to the Twitter account @Bdaangifte, or use the hashtag #ag10. Over 1500 people have requested help from the Tax Office (Belastingdienst) in this way.
